A message came of death of Press Bunch. Died July 4. They had been here for death of Mrs. Bunch brother John Rinard. He leave his wife Mrs. Belle Rinard Bunch and two grown children.

Raymond Joseph, son of J.L. Sanders, born Dec. 19.1903 died in Barnhill June .27,1922.  Pleasant Grove cemetery.

Mrs. Anthony Pennington died July, 4.

S.B.N. Hamil age 80 died at his daughter Mrs. J .M. Hamil.  Maple Hill.



July  13, 1922

Mrs. Martha Forth  Burgess was killed by a train at Wayne City. Age about 65. Formerly of Orchard twp. been a widow about 10 years. Have two sons who lived in the west. She is a sister of Lewis Forth. Buried Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

Elvis B. Keen b. Dec .21,1850 Wayne co. and d. June. 12,1922. Married Francis Dickey about 1871.  Eleven children. Five died. Those left. Emma Smith of Springfield, Charley of Wayne co. Thomas of Kingston, Il. Nettie Dodds and Orval of Loami, Il. Curt of Virden, His first wife died. 1889. He married Mary Dickey  1897. Ten Post Oak cemetery.

James G. McFarlan age 75 was run down and killed at Mt. Carmel. July,4.

Eileen, daughter of Harry and Mary Sluder b. Ma r.8.1922 and d. June. 10. 1922.

Boyleston
Richland has a new cemetery.  Mrs. Ethel Padgett’s baby was the first one buried there.  James Wm. 7 mo. old son of Milard Padgett died July, 1.

Several attended funeral of Jessie Farmer who died in N.M.,  July ,4.

Jessie Albert Farmer, son of Rev. W.J. and Jane Farmer b. Oct. 7, 1889 near Xenia. Married Anna Epperson July 1, 1912. One girl Alberta left also his wife, his mother, one sister Ollie Ballard of Rinard, 3 brothers, Wm. of ST. Louis, Frank   and Oscar of Rinard. Frank and WM. Went after the body and took it to his mother. He was buried in Cooper Cemetery beside his dad Thomas Farmer.  One place said it was the Russell cemetery.



July  20, 1922

Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Worley Cox died at her son Ed Cox at Barnhill. She is a sister to J.M. and W.H. Worley and a widow of the late James Cox who been dean 10-12 years. One June. 6 she was 76. She has 10 living children. Geo of Dexter Mo.  Florence Holt, widow of the late Horace Holt. Mrs. George (Ada) Wiley, John and Mrs. John (Etta) Skinner of Albion. Will who move to Indianapolis, Otis, Ed, Mrs. Ben (Bessie) Saye of Albion and Hazel Cates, widow of the late Otto Cates of Mill Shoals.   Koontz cemetery.

A little child of Otto Meeks died. Barnhill cemetery.

Mrs. Annis Fowler-Cannon formerly of Golden Gate died E. St .Louis.  Thomas Hill cemetery.
She was a widow of Ephriam Fowler. Afterward she married Wm. Cannon. Later W.H. Forrester who survive

Minnie C. Enlow Shelton d. July ,5,1922 at Olney. Born Mt. Erie Dec 4,1869. Married Frank Shelton June 27,1889. Seven children. Mr. Shelton died. Oct. 2,1911. The children left are Omer and Edwin of Wayne co. Della Shultz of Paynesville, Minn. Also two brothers and four sisters.  Brown cemetery.

Mahulda Galbraith, daughter of Green Galbraith born Sept .28.1837 and d. July, 12,1922.  Married
Wm. Ellis in the year of 1855.  13 children. Five and husband have died. Those left are Albert of Logan, Kans. Alia Whitman, Thomas, Sherman, Emma Wilkin Eva Richardson and ______ _____  of  Wayne co. and Mellise Vaughn of Olney. Also, leave an aged brother.

Drusilla Yarnell, b. Bellmont, Ohio, Oct. 8,1829. M. Nathaneil Maris, Feb. 19,1890. They lived in Barnsville, Ohio. Later mowing to Wayne co. Later moving Olympia, Wash in 1890. Her husband die 1894.  She died at her daughter Laura Rice of Woodburn, Oreg. July, 11,1920.  Her body taken to Olympia, Wash. Along with Mrs. G.W. White, G.R. Maris and Laura Rice.

At age 17 they move west. He leaves his wife Martha, 3 sons, Charles of Tonica, Ill. James of Cisne and Lloyd of Plaines. Two girls, Nellie Mauck of Tonica and Pearl of Plaines.  Six brothers and 2 sisters. John, Geo.; Sam; Tom; Jake and Hiram; Rachel Cariens and Mary Vaughn all of Wayne co. he had 3 children to died. The Joseph Hollman of West Frankfort, Il., was at his parents, Andy Hollman and had a baby son who lived only a few hours

Miss Jane Batson ,b. July, 28,1839 Wayne co.  In 1865 move to Marshaltown, Iowa. Then for 30 years she made her home with her sister Elizabeth Melrose of Ellery. She died at Grayville Aug. 15,1922.  Oak Grove cemetery.

Roy Felix and family of Peoria came for death of her brother Rolen Foster.

Herman Vaughn called by death of her brother Stolen Foster at Carmi.

Rev. Wellington Huntsberry, son of Rev. and Mrs. Samuel Huntsberry. Born in Wadsworth, Ohio. When 2 yr. old move to Owen co. Ind. When 13 they move to Cala Co. Ind. Later came to Wayne co.  Dec. 1888 he married Mary VanFossen. Had 4 children who survive. Cloyd, Ethel, Mary and Ruth. He died Sept. 16,1922.

Seven children. Three have died. Charles, Earl and Lunetta.. Thos left, Cora Johnson and Frank of Enterprise, Il.  Ralph and Irene still at home. One brother George of Parma, Mo and one sister Mary Christina of Washington. German cemetery.

Miss Flossie, Mrs. _____ Fildes, and Doyal Toombs of Mt. Carmel. One sister Martha Thackery of Springer ton , One brother I.J. Toombs, of Mill shoals and a half brother, Wm. Of Bell City, One daughter died  23 years ago.

Of Creston, Wash. Wm. C. of St.Louis, Mrs. Henry Vertrees of Fairfield,  Mrs. S.B. Biggerstaff of Enfield, Misses, Alice, Blanche, Helen, Robert all at home. One step-daughter Mrs. J.O. Kennet of Eugene ,Oreg. One broth L.H. LeCoy of Mott, N.D. One sister, Mrs. James Mossbarger of Belle Rive and one have sister Mrs. J.T. Atteberry of Burnt Prairie.   Buried Burnt Prairie.

Joseph Shook  of Litchnstein Wurtemburg, German, born. Mar. 25,1833. Died at Fairfield, Sept .25,1922. He was 21 when he came here.  Aug .10,1859 he married Mary Anne Simpson.  Six children. Arrabell, Henry; William;  Carrie; Frank and Minnie.   The wife died and also 3 boys. Maple Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Abigail Hill, daughter of A.A. and Abigail Kimball Holland, b. Meigs co. Ohio June .7,1854.  May 16,1859 married Geo. W. Hill of Gallia co. Ohio. In 1858 they came to Geff. She is survived by 2 girls. Fannie Durnell and Sarah Sparks.  Maple Hill cemetery.

Robert S. Clark b. Mt. Carmel May 12,1855, d. Oct. 10,1922. Son of Chanuncey and Armenia Clark,  1880 they move to Wayne co. he m. Clara Bell Boswell Oct. 24,1882 Ten children. Mrs. Herbert Dyball of Albion who d. Mar. 27,1913.  Mrs. Otis Cox, Ray, Harry, Frank, Fred, Pauline who died Dec. 9.1913, Richard, Agnes who d. Sept. 3,1913 and Walter.  Mrs. Clark d. Died in the West:
J. W. Bratton formerly of Johnsonville d. Oct. 2, 1922 At Burlington, Wash. He was 68. Him and his wife went to Washington to visit two sons, J.L. and C.R.   Buried Wesley Chapel.  Mrs. Bratton did not return home.

Clemma, daughter of S. A. and Nettta Nunn .b. Aug .3,.1893 and d. Oct. 10.1922. Married Joseph Osterman Jan. 28, 1915. Four children. Francis, Wanda, Herbert and one son died in infancy. She leave her parents, 2 brothers, Percy of St. Louis. Wm. At home and 2 sisters, Carrie Fraley of Murphysboror and Margaret Dickinson of Rock Fall,  IL.

Rosetta Wallitz, 49 wife of Max Wallitz was instantly killed by her son Roscoe age 17. S.W. of Keenes. Her maiden name was Boykin. She have 7 sons.

Apr. 20.1906. Age 31.  The husband died Mar .21,1907 age 74.  Yarnell cemetery. Also leave her sister. Margaret Evans and a brother Aaron.   Those died were her brother John of Exester, Mo. And a sister Drusilla Marls of Woodburn Oreg. who died the last year.
