August 18,  1921

Lizzie Westfall Kramer died in Denver Colo. Her three girls were with her, Grace Earnest, Nellie and Hazel Kramer. Her brother in law, Theodore A. Kramer, of Eldordo, Kansas, also with her. Body was shipped here. Widow of the late Samuel Kramer.

Bertha Weems Galbraith, wife of Geo. H. Galbraith died Aug. 7, Long Beach, Calif. Age 39. Came to Calif. 10 years ago with her family from Johnsonville. She leaves husband and three kids. Harold age 17, Anita age 6 and Maxine age 2 ½. Also a brother, Harry Weems, of Bakerfield. Another brother George died 3 years ago. She was the daughter of Col. T. L. B. Weems of Johnsonville, IL. Dr. Galbraith was a son of N.W. Galbraith of Johnsonville.

4 years old girl of Bark Benskin was buried at Kneff cemetery. Mrs. Benskin was a sister to J.J. Robinson.

Allie Bond-Walker  b. McLeansboro Sept. 7,1887 and died Aug 8, 1921. Oldest of the Bond family of six children. At death of her mother, the other five was taken to Orphan Home. Allie age 11 made her home wherever. Her scattered family could not be found. She married Ben Walker Mar. 19, 1910, Searcy, Ark. She leaves her husband.   Maple Hill cemetery.

Told who attended funeral. Elizabeth Westfall Kramer, b. Edward Co. Jan. 19, 1864. Her parents died when she was an infant. The Alex Althouse of Parkersburg raises her. She married Samuel Kramer, Aug. 26, 1883. Had five children. He died Jan. 19.1901. Son Huber Althouse Kramer died at age 17. 3 years ago a daughter Mabel Durham died in East St .Louis. Also leaves three girls, two grand children. Anna Elizabeth and Wm.
Durham of E. St. Louis. One sister. Jennie Littell of Olney and a brother Wm. Westfall of Pueblo, Colo.

Eldon Book,, son of G. J. Book of Barnhill b. Mar. 23, 1895 at Merriam. He was killed in France 1918 and buried at Maple Hill  Aug. 14,1921. Leaves his parents, 3 brothers, Roy, Pete and Berlin and 4 sisters, Ethel, Mary, Alice and Marjory.

Mrs. John Zilch, an aged lady and mother-in-law of Phillip Obrecht died. Buried German cemetery.

Geo W. Ray died. Harmony church. Buried Kneff  cemetery. Past 87 yr. He leaves his wife of 64 years and four sons, Ellis of Diggins Mo., Lowell of E. St. Louis, Maurice of Geff, and Oscar Ray. It names the people that came for the funeral.

David Reynolds, b. Dec. 5,1880, and died near Boyleston, Aug. 15,1921. Grew up in Rinard and married Bertha Davis Nov. 2,1901. They had four children, 2 dying young. Also, leaves a son, a girl, and a step-son Vergie Smith. Also, leaves two brothers and three sisters. Indian Prairie cemetery.

Nicks Alvis Campbell. Edward Co. Nov. 28,1859, and died Fairfield, Aug.10.1921. He married Alice Crabtree Oct. 28.1883. They had six children. Grace, Mary, Thomas, John, Elmer and Laura.  His wife and four have died. Those left are Thomas and Elmer. Also leaves one sister.  Buried Mill Shoals.

Susan E. Turner Hale, d. at Johnsonville age 79 on day of her death. Widow of A. J. Hale who died 10-12 years ago. Leave eight children. Hale cemetery. She died Aug. 26,1921. Her children are Jess and Luke of here. Mrs. Oliver Rudisell of Gilkerson, Ark. Mrs. J.B. Galbraith of Fairfield, Lou and Andrew of Johnson, and Fred of St., Louis. This Obit was also in the Sept. 8 newspaper.
She was born Aug. 27,1842. Daughter of Rev. Israel J. Turner Sr. Married Andrew Jackson Hale Oct. 3,1858. Had six boys and five girls. Two infant sons died. And one girl, Lucy, wife of L.R. Case. 4 brothers and two sisters, Edward M., George W., Isreal Jr., Thomas H., Mary Ann Tenny, and Martha Jane Alvis.

Those left are Crittenden, Garfield, John A., and Delbert of Wayne co., Mary Tribe of Jacksonville, and Anna Thomas of Mo.   Andrew had a brother to die six month ago. Robert is dead.  A.W. of Ark. And Oscar from here. 2 sisters survive. Lucinda Young and Rhoda Hodges. Mrs. Murphy died when Oscar a babe, about 1887 and then he married Mary Bruner who survive.

Casey Sprnell,b. Jan.27.1847. Edward co. and d. Oct.25,1921 in Albion. He married Mar.13,1870 to Kathryn Vincent.  They had 12 children. Five survived. Zella and Eathel of Little Rock  Ark.. Elizabeth of Vernon Texas. James of Albion and C.C. of Aberdeen ,S.D. His wife also died Jan.28.1916.

Dr. Robert Henry, son of Henry and Elizabeth Maricle, b. Nov. 2,1841 and d. Oct. 31,1921. Married Amanda Tyler Sept 9,1866.  Had 6 boys. Wife and sons Oscar and Cooper have gone on. He later married Mary Smith of Charleston, Il. Who survive. Along with the four sons Oliver F. of Texas,  Orsen of Okla. Carson of Oregon and Victor of here. Buried in West Antioch.

Word receive death of John S. Yarnall who died at his home in Exter, Mo. Oct.28. He left here about 40 years ago for Kansas.

Had 7 children. Five living. Claude of Mo. Walter, Fred and Anna Fleichman of Lincoln. And Fanny Martin of Bloomington Also a half brother Wm. D. Tucker of San Antonio. Gary Osburne, a horse trader came here 2 months ago. His wife Beulah and 3 children. 8,10, and 12. Mrs. Osborne died. Maple Hill cemetery but somebody came 160 miles away and took the body with them.

Evelyn.  Harry died Dec .5, 1921 at Chicago. He also leaves his father, 3 brothers, Irvin of Fairfield, Patton and Rollie of Okla. and one sister Marzell of Fairfield.

Scott Marvel ,b. Mt. Erie Oct .24,1880. Four years ago, he moves to Aberdeen with his wife and 2 children. Also, leave one brother Albert and 2 sisters, Phoebe Wells and Miranda Trotter. He was a son of Joseph Marvel who died at Mt. Carmel, IL. A few years ago.

Lydia Louise , girl of James and Jane Lear, b. Aug. 25,1836, Bellmont, Ohio and came here in 1840. Married L.D. Thorn, July, 18,1859. No children but gave mother love to several including Mrs. John Trago and Wm. Lear.   Cisne cemetery. She died Dec. 9.1921 at her niece. Mrs. J.B. Montgomery.

Van Rensselace Price, son of Larkin and Sallie Price b. Jan.15,1836 in Posey co. Ind., and d. at Mt. Erie. Dec.18.1921. He was one of a family of 5 sons and 4 girls. Also the last one to go. Feb.1838 his parents move to Massillon twp .  At age 20 his father died. On Oct.27.1864 Van married Martha Adams. One and one girl. Joseph Henry of Rocky  Ford, Calif. And Maude Evelyn (Mrs. Henry Clevenger) of Mt. Erie.. The wife died Jan .3 1873.   On Apr. 13,1875 he married Mrs. Caroline Berg. One girl Carrie ( Mrs. Fred Fulton of Chicago). Buried Locust Grove cemetery.

Mary Ellen Pixley Shoaff, b. Feb.7,1844 and d.  Dec .25,1921. Her parents were Wm. and Laura Pixley of Wabash co. She was the youngest of nine. She married Ross Shoaff  Dec. 9, 1874. at Friendsville, Il. He died June. 28.1919. Mary Ellen died at the home of a daughter,  Mrs. Philip King,  at Golden Gate. Also, leaves another girl Maggie E. Severns of E. St. Louis. and,  3 grandsons. Herbert, Earnest and Arthur Phar.   Buried at Friendsville.

Lena Irene, daughter of Pleas and Flora Trout born Apr.27.1907 and d. Dec.18.1921. Leave her parents, 2 brothers Herman and Karl. One sister Mrs. Ethel Henson.
