BALTIMORE  CEMETERY

This cemetery is often referred to as the Olive Branch Cemetery.  Actucally, the church across the street, Olive Branch Southern Missionary Baptist, is not really associated with the cemetery.  Though, being across the street and many of the church members are buried here,  people think the two are associated and refer to the cemetery as Olive Branch.

Its name came from being in the Baltimore post office district.

There used to be many trees in this cemetery but over the years, a few years ago (2005?), a storm hit and many of the trees and stones were destroyed.

I remember this cemetery, as it is one I often refer to as "going up in it" because my father mowed the lawn, I clipped the grass around the stones, Grandma prayed at each stone, and told me a story (some handed down to her) of those she remembered or knew of.

The people that associate with this cemetery have strong love and bond for it, and it is well taken care of.

I will have information coming about some of the people that are buried here and a list of all the military men.

Smiles!

Dianna
